What kind of work is available in the preparation phase?

What kind of work is available in the preparation phase?

Before EURO 2020 can start on June 12, a lot has to be done. You can also fulfill a role in this. For example, help organize the selections, training sessions or help us during the build-up.

What is a shift?

A shift is a specific role for a specific period per day.

For example: Host / hostess - 9 am to 4 pm.

It is expected that each volunteer will be available for at least four shifts between June 12 and July 12, 2020.

During the work there will be a coordinator per group of volunteers. This person ensures that everyone can perform his or her work optimally. The coordinator is the first point of contact for the volunteers and also ensures, for example, the coordination of breaks.

Four matches are played in the Johan Cruijff Arena. These are three group matches and one eighth final.

Will EURO 2020 only take place in the Netherlands?

No, this edition of the European Football Championship will be played simultaneously in twelve countries, with each country having a playing city. This is because of UEFA's sixtieth anniversary. For the Netherlands, the playing city is Amsterdam. The other playing cities are Baku, Bilbao, Budapest, Bucharest, Dublin, Glasgow, Copenhagen, London, Munich, Rome and St. Petersburg.

If the Dutch national team places themselves, will they play in the Netherlands?

If the Dutch national team places themselves, will they play in the Netherlands?

If the Dutch national team qualifies, they will play the first two or three matches in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. This depends on the draw and the game schedule. The Dutch national team will not play their potential eighth final in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

In total, around 1,200 volunteers will work within the City Host Volunteer Programme.

The minimum age to participate in the City Host Volunteer Programme is 16 years. You must have reached this age on June 12, 2020. There is no maximum age. Anyone who meets the requirements can register as a volunteer for the City Host Volunteer Programme. We encourage people with different ages, experiences and backgrounds to volunteer.

Yes, you do not have to live in Amsterdam to register.

Yes you can, but there are some conditions attached to this. If you come from a country that is part of the EEA or from Switzerland, you are eligible to perform volunteer work in the Netherlands. If you are from another country, you will need a work permit.

What is the difference between the City Host Volunteer Programme and the UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer Programme?

During EURO 2020 Amsterdam there are two different volunteer programmes: the City Host Volunteer Programme and the UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer Programme. Both have the same objective: to offer all volunteers an unforgettable experience.

The City Host Volunteer Programme focuses on all activities that take place in the city of Amsterdam between June 12 and July 12, 2020. The fans will gather and side events will be organized in various places in the city. We want to welcome everyone with open arms for an unforgettable football experience in our city.

The UEFA EURO 2020 Volunteer Programme focuses on all volunteers in the Johan Cruijff ArenA (plus one kilometer perimeter) and all volunteers who are active in the International Broadcast Center (at the Expo in Haarlemmermeer).

A Bunch of Choices processes your personal data because you use our services and / or because you provide this information to us yourself.

Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we process:

Name and address details, date of birth, gender, nationality, e-mail address, telephone number, language skills, education level, work situation and experience, clothing size, contact details for emergencies, passport photo, VOG.

For what purpose and why do we process the personal data
The European Football Championship (EURO 2020) will take place from 11 June to 11 July 2021. In honor of the 60th anniversary of UEFA, EURO 2020 will be played in 12 different cities. One of these cities is Amsterdam. In this context, various activities will take place in Amsterdam between 11 - 27 June 2021. Many volunteers will contribute to make that possible.

A Bunch of Choices is working on the implementation of the City Host Volunteer Program for EURO 2020 on behalf of the Municipality of Amsterdam. A Bunch of Choices needs the requested data to provide all volunteers with information in the correct way, to make a correct classification, to properly guide all volunteers and to be able to correspond. All necessary personal data is made directly available by the volunteer to A Bunch of Choices.

Automated decision-making
A Bunch of Choices does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that can have (significant) consequences for people. These are decisions taken by computer programs or systems, without a person sitting in between.

How long do we keep personal data
A Bunch of Choices does not store your personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We will delete data that we store if you have consented to this as soon as you withdraw your consent. We keep data that we process on the basis of our legitimate interest up to the moment when our interest disappears for a maximum of 12 months. There is an exception: like any company, we are legally obliged to keep our records, including invoices with address details, for seven years.

Sharing of personal data with third parties
A Bunch of Choices will not sell your information to third parties and will only provide it if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. Companies that process your data ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.

View, modify or delete data
You have the right to view and adjust your personal data. To change or delete your personal data, you can send an email to cityhost@volunteers-euro2020.nl, after which we will adjust or delete your data within a week. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by our company and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we have about you in a computer file to you or another organization mentioned by you.

Photos and videos
The photographers and videographers appointed by the organization will take photos and video recordings during EURO 2020. Every volunteer automatically agrees to this photography and film without any form of compensation and gives A Bunch of Choices, and partners in the framework of EURO 2020, permission to use these photographs and video recordings, which may contain images of visitors and volunteers, for the aftermath of the event and to promote volunteer work for future events, without any liability whatsoever.

A Bunch of Choices takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes. If you feel that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact us.

As a volunteer you will not receive free EURO 2020 tickets or get priority over EURO 2020 tickets. Do you want to get tickets? You can sign up to buy tickets via: https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/ticketing/. The UEFA EURO 2020 application window will be open for a month from June 12, 2019 to July, 12 2019. All tickets will be allocated through a draw. You have an equal chance to get your tickets, regardless of when you submit your application.
