Euro 2020 Euro 2020

Inclusiveness, how do we do that?

My name is Lara de Vries and I am 25 years old. I am in the fourth and final year of the Sports Sciences course at the Inholland University of Applied Sciences and I am doing research for my thesis at the EURO 2020 Academy. Before I started this course, I studied Communication and Multimedia Design for a year at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. I quit this because I didn’t see myself doing this for a full-time job. Despite this, I have learned a lot from it and I can often apply the skills which I gained there. The training that I am now following is very broad, which gives me the opportunity to investigate many subjects and see what suits me. In the third year I did an internship at the company Mom in Balance. After my internship, I stayed at the company and I now work two days a week alongside my education.

Many elements that interest me have been covered during my education and I have learned a lot about them. One of the parts that I have not learned enough about is organizing an event. For this reason I am so happy to be able to cooperate in organizing EURO 2020. For the organization and implementation of the event, I will investigate how we can involve people with a physical and/or psychosocial disability as volunteers in the right way. Ultimately, I will develop a step-by-step plan for this that will be implemented at EURO 2020.
